Walk through the spice plantation where you will learn abut the various aromatic spice and essential oil plants.
On this web site you will learn about a sustainable organic spice farm in Costa Rica, also about biodynamic agriculture, as well as find out interesting facts about vanilla and its uses.
Because of tourist demand from the hotels in the Manuel Antonio National Park/Quepos area we have initiated, a “Farm Tour“ walk through the spice plantation where we explain and identify the various aromatic spice and essential oil plants to visitors. As proponents of sustainable development we are also proud to demonstrate the cultural practices we apply on our farm which has been certified organic and/or biodynamic since 1992.
For visitors who wish to spend more time to truly experience our tropical
rainforest environment there are 3 fully furnished guest cottages
that are available as rentals.
The cabins are situated at the edge of a rainforest, where the rainforest atmosphere surrounds you. In the dry season evenings they make an ideal star watchers' paradise. To learn more about our farm tour visit the “Farm Tour“ page.
To see pictures of the cabins and read about the lodging possibilities, please go to the Lodging Villa Vanilla page. In addition to learning about sustainable farming practices, vanilla, spices, and other essential oil plants, there are other things to do in the area. Manuel Antonio National Park with its world famous beaches, restaurants and hotels are is just a short drive away. Villa Vanilla has been featured in various magazines - read these informative articles here.
Rainforest Spices is the marketing label of the Villa Vanilla farm's products.
